Twine Recycling

Hello Livestock Producers,
The North Peace Regional Landfill requests that you not place used twine from your hay and straw bales in the garbage bins at the County Transfer Stations or your own personal bins, as when the loads come into the Regional Landfill the twine can wrap around the drums of the Compactor causing operational issues.
Instead, place the loose twine (plastic only) in recycling bags that can be picked up from the Regional Landfill or the Transfer Station Attendants and return the full bags to the Collection site.
This twine can be recycled into car parts, flower pots, composite decking and dimensional lumber.
Thank you, North Peace Regional Landfill

Chemical and Oil Jugs

Clear Hills County Transfer Stations will no longer be accepting Chemical or Oil Jugs

Follow these 3Rs to ensure that your containers are accepted and can be recycled:

  1. Rinse – Triple or pressure rinse to ensure no product is wasted. Review our container rinsing procedures for details*.
  2. Remove – Remove caps and booklets (place in garbage); leave the glued-on label. Remove metal handle from fertilizer pails.
  3. Return to your local collection site – For more information see: collection site map**
