Wildfire Season Starts March 1st!
February 21 2025
Fire permits are required for all burning activities, except campfire, in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta during wildfire season, from March 1 to October 31.
To get your FREE fire permit please call the Peace River Forest Area Office at 780-624-6190 or go to https://www.alberta.ca/get-a-fire-permit and request a permit.
A fire permit is not required if burning in the Clear Hills County Forest Protection Area, but it is encouraged that you contact the County office at 780-685-3925 so that a controlled burn notification can be sent. A controlled burn notification is sent out in order to reduce the amount the Fire Departments are dispatched to controlled burn sites.
