Dust Control
Dust Control
Clear Hills County offers a dust control application program for its roadways, focusing on identified safety concerns and areas where residents or oil companies have submitted applications and fees.
Managed by the Public Works Department, applications require completion of a form and prepayment, with scheduling based on program priorities. Residential users along gravelled Secondary Highways can participate upon approval by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation, though effectiveness of the applied agent is not guaranteed, and fees are non-refundable.
Dust control strips must be at least 100 meters long, with longer sections subject to approval by the Public Works Manager.
Annual application fees are determined by the Council. Residents are responsible for half the costs up to 200 meters, while industrial users cover all expenses. Additionally, residents may apply their own dust control products with County approval, ensuring road surfaces meet County standards beforehand.
