Volunteer of the Year – Luke Hoffman
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,
It is my absolute pleasure to stand before you tonight at the Clear Hills County Awards & Appreciation Banquet to recognize someone who embodies the true spirit of community and giving. Tonight, we celebrate the 2025 Volunteer of the Year – the one and only Luke Hoffman!
Luke is more than just a familiar face in Clear Hills County and the Village of Hines Creek – he is a cornerstone of our community. Motivated by a simple yet profound desire to make the world a better place, Luke lives by the principle: “To see change, you have to be the change.” And he does just that, with passion, humility, and an unwavering dedication to making a positive impact.
One of Luke’s most cherished memories involves the Seniors Garden project. As the garden blossomed under his care, so did the stories of the seniors who tended it. They shared heartfelt memories of gardening as children – some with tears in their eyes – reliving moments that connected their past to the present. Luke’s efforts didn’t just grow flowers and vegetables; they nurtured connection, laughter, and even a few happy tears.
But Luke’s contributions don’t stop there. He has been instrumental in organizing the Hines Creek Soap Box and Lawn Mower Races – events that have drawn people from every corner of Clear Hills County. These gatherings don’t just entertain; they unite us as a community, showcasing the best of what we can accomplish when we come together.
For Luke, volunteering isn’t about recognition – though we’re making an exception tonight! It’s about the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing you’ve made a difference. His advice to all of us? “Just get out there and do it. No matter how small, who knows what it will grow into.”
Luke has chosen Montageneuse Valley Junior Forest Wardens as the recipient of their non-profit donation.
Luke, your actions and selflessness remind us of all the power of giving. You are proof that one person’s efforts can ripple out to inspire countless others. On behalf of Clear Hills County, thank you for your incredible contributions, and congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in celebrating our 2025 Clear Hills County Volunteer of the Year – Luke Hoffman!

Farm Family - Fortify Farms- Chris & Melissa Kamphuis Family
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,
It is my distinct honor to stand before you tonight to celebrate an extraordinary family whose hard work, innovation, and commitment to our community embody the very spirit of agriculture in Clear Hills County.
The 2025 Clear Hills County Farm Family Award goes to Chris and Melissa Kamphuis and their family of Fortify Farms—a name that reflects the strength, resilience, and dedication of this remarkable farming family.
The Kamphuis Family Farm is a dynamic operation that exemplifies the ingenuity of modern agriculture. What started as a mixed grain farm expanded to include cattle and, incredibly, a couple of million honeybees. These additions were not mere expansions but strategic efforts to make the most of their non-farmable areas and to trial innovative methods of boosting canola yields. Their approach demonstrates a commitment to not just maintaining the land but enhancing it for future generations.
Chris and Melissa are deeply rooted in agriculture, having both grown up on family farms. They’ve passed this heritage on to their children, Shane, Kyle, and Kensi, who are actively involved in the day-to-day operations. Their collective work ethic and teamwork ensure the farm runs smoothly, embodying the essence of a family farm where everyone plays a vital role.
Beyond the farm gate, the Kamphuis family is a cornerstone of our community. They are active in school sports, School Council, and as volunteer coaches. They serve on local non-profit boards and participate in churches and community events throughout the county. Their children are following their example, volunteering their time and contributing to the operations of the Worsley Arena.
Chris, in particular, has a passion for sharing knowledge. He loves networking with local farmers and peers to exchange ideas, often drawing from seminars, mentors, and the wisdom of experience. Through his YouTube channel, he shares practical advice and insights, paying forward the help he has received from others in the agricultural community. His collaborative spirit and "good neighbor" attitude have made a tangible impact, both locally and beyond. This year marks a special milestone for the Kamphuis family: with Chris and their boys’ contribution to a successful first-year honey harvest. It’s a testament to their hard work, creativity, and dedication to agricultural excellence.
Chris and Melissa, your achievements inspire us all. On behalf of Clear Hills County, congratulations to you and your family for being shining examples of what it means to be leaders in agriculture and champions of community spirit. Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in celebrating the Kamphuis family of Fortify Farms, our 2025 Clear Hills County Farm Family Award recipients!
